•For success use hair rig. Use food items that carp like. They will not come near if the food is not to their liking.

•Spider Line, 50 lbs test, can also be used. After that a leader material that fits the situation can be tried.

•Hook the hair loop but before that thread the bait on the baiting needle. To enhance the attractiveness of the bait, use foam dipped in a flavor.

•By straightening a long shank hook, make a baiting needle. First slide the bait on the shank and then onto the hair. Slide the bait using a needle.

•It is favorable to use a float as this helps in further distancing and easy identification of the location.

•The controller float rig is important. To the mainline of at least 3 feet length with a 10 lbs Drennan double strength, a leader can be attached with the help of a swivel. A low diameter mono will do if it is properly visible while it floats.

In the words of experts, the method in which the bait is introduced is what helps in catching the carp rather than the bait itself. If food is positioned in one place for a few days before the bait, the carp can be fooled. They will stop being suspicious. Their numbers will multiply too. So to be successful, try to be patient.

How to use golf training aids to get your alignment dead on

If you hit the ball well, but suffer from consistency in your shot direction or shape, you may be suffering from alignment problems at address. This is an extremely important but very underrated factor in the golf swing, and most amateurs pay far too little attention to getting it right. Are your feet, hips, shoulders, and clubface aligned properly for each shot? Here's a short test that will help you find out:

First, are your feet lined up parallel to the target line? This one is easy. Just address the ball as if you were going to hit a shot, then put a longish iron on the ground so that the shaft touches both of your toes. Then take another iron and carefully line it up just behind the ball with the grip end of the shaft pointing toward the target.

Now, step back and see if the shaft by your feet is parallel with the shaft behind the ball. If the shaft points to the left (for right handers) then you will tend to swing on an outside to in swing path, which will predispose you to hitting pulls, fades, slices. If the shaft points to the right of parallel, then you will tend to push, hook, or draw.

Second, check your hips and shoulders. This is a little tougher. Leave the clubs from step 1 in place and address the ball again. Have a friend stand behind you and lay a club across your hips and shoulders to tell where they are lined up. If they are pointing left or right of parallel to the target line the same problems from step 1 apply.

Third, check your clubface. Believe it or not, this can be the toughest one. Tape a 12" plastic ruler or other straight object to the clubface and then address the ball normally. This will exaggerate any errors and tell you where you are aiming. If the clubface is aimed left of square (closed) you will tend to hook and if it is aimed right (open) you will tend to slice, depending on your grip and other factors in your swing.

Lower your golf score - simplify your putting

Putting is such an important part of your golf score. It is the part of your golf game that itself is a game. In order to become a good golfer… you have to be able to putt well.

Think of your putter as just another club in your bag for a moment. In a normal round of 18 golf holes, let’s say you use this club we call the putter just twice per hole. That’s 36 times you and your putter will have the opportunity to affect your golf score! Are going to hit your driver 36 times? Or your 7 iron 36 times? Not hardly.

Yet with such overwhelming statistics, most mid to higher handicap golfers really don’t spend enough time working on their putting. In reality, it is the putter that can most rapidly improve your game. Just imagine, by improving your putting you could easily save yourself 10 strokes per round by consistently making those 4 to 6 foot putts and rarely three putting. That’s going from a golf score of 100 to 90 or 90 to 80! That’s very significant.

So with renewed focus and enthusiasm for improving our putting, let’s take a look at a few tips we can use to doing so.

Position the ball slightly forward (toward your front foot) in your stance. You want your eyes just slightly behind the ball. From this position you will be able to get a good sight line between your ball the intermediate target in your putting line.

The grip is the ‘feel’ you have for the putt and these days there are numerous variations of putting grips. The important concept here is that you realize that your grip (hands) should not be used to take away or manipulate the putter through the stroke. The putting stroke originates and is implanted through a pendulum type motion provided by the shoulders. Not the hands. Find a grip that is comfortable for you and one that you can keep inactive during the putt.

Once you commit to your putting line, pick out a target on that line that is just ahead of your ball. Now visualize an imaginary line that runs from your target line just ahead of your ball back through the ball and right through the center of your putter. You want your putter face to be absolutely square to your line. Once you’ve done this don’t adjust your grip, body position or anything, else you risk losing your perspective.

The putting stroke like all your golf swings is one of rhythm. It is accomplished through a pendulum motion of the shoulders. The key is to minimize all other body movement and don’t follow the putter through the stroke with your head. Any body or head movement will greatly increase the possibility that your putter face will move off of square to your line.

And finally, always work to achieve the same stroke distance and tempo through the golf ball as you had going away from the golf ball. Your putting stroke should be of equal length both back and through.

Consistently allocating a portion of your practice time to your putting stroke is without doubt the easiest and quickest way to start shaving strokes off your golf score. If you only eliminate but one putt for every other hole, you’ll immediately take 9 strokes off your score… not a bad return from your putter at all.

Don t let the wind blow your game away

Sure it’s nice to head out to the golf course on a beautifully tranquil day where it’s easy figure your yardages and be confident in your club selection. Unfortunately, however, Mother Nature isn’t always so accommodating and you’ll find yourself having to deal with a bit of wind.

When you’re up against a windy day on the golf course, if you let it affect your attitude, you’re going to be in for a long day. Many players do and are. You, however, should not let this happen. First of all it does your golf game no good, and secondly, if your playing partners bowing to the wind, then all the better for you to collect on the nassau.

The basic golf shot that enters the conversation when talking about playing in the wind is the knockdown shot.

There are a couple of basic keys to the knockdown shot.

The first is that the hands have to remain ahead of the clubhead through the swing. So at your address, move the ball slightly further back in your stance. The knockdown golf shot is not a ‘full swing’ type of shot. It is a control shot. In fact, with knockdown shots you’ll want your finish position to be lower and not fully completed.

The second key is based upon the first.

Since the knockdown shot is not a full swing you’ll want to take and extra club or two in order to (a) take the loft off of what would be your normal shot and (b) get the distance you want with a lower ball flight and easier non-full swing.

The tailwind – Playing a hole with a good tailwind is a favorite scenario for many. Keep in mind however, when it comes to playing in the wind… control is the key word.

A tailwind certainly adds distance and carry to your golf shots, and will help keep your shots straighter, but remember it also adds roll. And if we’re talking about an approach shot into the green, the tailwind is going to take the backspin off of your shot and subsequently your ball won’t check nearly as tidy when it hits the green. So, factor in not only the distance, but roll as well.

The headwind – now you’ve made 180 and you’re heading back into the same wind that was just at your back. Now is when the knockdown becomes your friend and ally. Remember, play the ball back in your stance (keeping your hands ahead of the clubhead), take more club, and swing easy and under control.

The crosswind - the crosswind or the quartering wind is the most difficult to deal with. This type of wind will magnify the spin and shape of your shot. If your flight is shaping the same direction, think distance and roll but, if you're going to shape your shot back into the crosswind add extra yardage to your calculation.

Given these two mirroring results, you can see that a crosswind can produce greatly varying distance. Because of this great variance, you’ll want a strategy that takes advantage of the wind.

If your distance is open ended you’ll probably want to shape your golf shot to work with the wind and get the most distance you can. If, however, you’re hitting your approach to the green, you’ll want to shape your shot back into the crosswind so your ball will land softer on the putting surface.

In summary, the key to wind play is control.

Remember, a solidly struck golf ball will be less affected by any wind as opposed to one that takes flight with a side spin.

Be confident when playing in the wind, ratchet your swing back a couple of notches and think about a nice smooth rhythm with solid contact.

Basic avalanche awareness

Avalanches are a substantial potential threat to climbers year round. Every year, dozens of individuals are killed during avalanches because they were unequipped, did not recognize the danger signs or pushed too hard. Be prepared and you can remain safe while enjoying your climb.

Types of Avalanche

The two primary kinds of avalanches that occur in snow are point release and slab avalanches. Each has different characteristics and warning signs.

Point Release

When a single rock or snowball comes loose and the effect slowly grows larger, this is a point release avalanche. These are the less dangerous of the two kinds of avalanche as they are generally shallow and will usually only knock or push you to the ground. They can, however, be dangerous if you are climbing a Cliffside and are pushed free.

Slab Avalanche

A slab avalanche is when massive plates and chunks of ice and snow break loose and start to fall. Because of the larger scale, these avalanches are much more dangerous. When the weakened layer of snow collapses, the snow on top breaks up and starts to slide as well. A slab avalanche will vary greatly in size, from a point release sized slide to a massive flurry that can bury a house.

Avalanche Sizes

There are five primary sizes of avalanche. They include the following:

Class One – The equivalent of a point release. Will knock people over, but not deep enough to bury anything.

Class Two – Deep enough to bury a person.

Class Three – Deep enough to bury a car.

Class Four – Deep enough to bury a house.

Class Five – Deep enough to bury multiple houses – catastrophic avalanche.

The Avalanche Triangle

The danger of an avalanche is established when three points are present. These three points are considered the avalanche triangle and should keep climbers home or at their base.

Terrain – There are certain areas that are more prone to avalanches. This avalanche terrain is often quite obvious as there will be few if any trees present and an angle of more than thirty degrees to the slope. Anything less than thirty degrees is usually to gentle of a slope for severe avalanches.

Avalanches are still possible at small and large angles though. You may be on a run out area, accounting for a twenty degree slope. Alternately, though forty five degrees and higher is usually safe because snow will slide down naturally as it lands, there are certain circumstances in which avalanches are still possible at this angle.

Unstable Snow – The stability of the snow is one of the primary points of hazard for an avalanche. If it shifts readily under your feet, looks as though it has not moved in days or weeks, and no animals are present, the snow is likely very unstable, marking the area as a high danger zone for avalanches.

People – When there are people present, there is a danger of being caught up in an avalanche. If they are not present, an avalanche is nothing more than a beautiful act of nature. If you notice unstable snow in avalanche terrain, steer yourself and any other people away to remain safe.

There are many things you can do to avoid being caught up in an avalanche when you go climbing, skiing or snowboarding. The first thing is to know what you are looking for. By acknowledging and steering clear of potential danger points, you can keep yourself and your friends safe from the imminent bodily harm the mountain might inflict.

Women s college basketball

We've come a long way since the inception of women's college basketball.

The first game, played in 1893 at Smith College, was played between sophomores and freshmen. However, the first "official" women's college basketball match was recognized in April 1896 with a game between Berkley and Stanford. This match was played in a locked gymnasium, as men were not allowed to watch as the women ran and jumped on the basketball court.

In 1901 a separate set of rules was written for women's college basketball. The early years involved some crazy rules. The Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women did not conduct the first National Basketball Tournament for Women until 1975. In this same year, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association selected their first All-America Team. The American Basketball League (ABL) was founded in 1996, and the Women's National Basketball Association followed in 1997. These associations were created to keep talented American players from moving to foreign leagues.

Then NCAA continues to supervise women's college basketball, having three divisions in place to filter the best players. Division I remains the most prominent and popular league, played by colleges that sponsor at least seven sports for women players. These colleges are required to play all but two of their games against other Division I teams. Division II includes those colleges that organize at least four sports each for women, and they are required to play at least half of their games against Division I or Division II teams. Division III includes colleges that organize at least five sports with two teams.

Winners of 31 conferences are automatically qualified for NCAA's annual Women's Basketball Championship. The remaining 34 teams are chosen by a selection committee to make it a field of 64. All of these teams are then organized in four pools, with each pool seeded from one to 16.

The annual tournament begins on the third Thursday of March. The first two days are most hectic, with a total of 32 teams leaving the competition by the end of the first day. By the end of day two, another 16 teams will be eliminated. Then, the action really begins to heat up as they remaining teams play for the Final Four position, and then the playoff for the ultimate tournament winner.
