Types of coffee packages

It might be a real eye-opener when people realize how many types of coffee packages there are offered in the Coffee Industry. There are so many different types of coffee packages because people drink coffee beverages in so many different environments. The flavors of the coffees vary too and that adds to the number of various types of coffee package designs too.

Most people are familiar with the branded coffees that are found in supermarkets, and the typical sizes of those offerings. Some people prefer to buy the freeze dried coffee because it is easier to fix in the mornings when only a cup or two will suffice. Most people choose between a large can of ground coffee that is weighed in ounces instead of pounds. The pound size bags have been reduced lately too, or did the various types of coffee packages fool you too?

Many of the hotel chains prefer to purchase the types of coffee packages that will fit the 4 cup coffee makers that are placed inside every hotel room. The various types of coffee packages that are chosen for the room will be typically more regular ground coffee pods, and one that will produce some decaffeinated coffee. Of course, the coloring for the decaffeinated coffee is usually green, and the regular coffee will be red.

Many people do not realize how expensive the various types of coffee packages are that are placed in a hotel room. Some hotel coffee services charge right at $30 for 18 rooms to have a coffee packet inside the room. That is one cost that is doubled when two types of packages are placed, and again when two of one kind are chosen, and then for each decaffeinated pack that is chosen.

The types of coffee packages that hotels choose and pay for will definitely make you review how you view your own coffee selection and price at the supermarket. The types of coffee packages that they choose will generally include Caribou French Ground or Caribou Blend Ground Coffee. If someone wanted to select a Starbucks brand for their hotel, then they would be expected to pay $37.40 or more for the same number of rooms.

Most hotels will only offer a 4-cup coffee maker in each room because they cost less to buy. If the hotels would switch over to guest room coffee, they could really save a bunch of money. The types of coffee packages used in a room equipped with a Melitta or Hamilton Beach single cup coffee maker are pods. These pods of coffee will brew one cup apiece and cost the hotels only $4.39 for 12 cups.

Ignite and rev up your car

How do you start your car?

The simple answer to this very simple question is to insert the key into the ignition slot and rev up your car to life.

So how does the ignition of your car really work?

Well, the ignition key slot of your vehicle is actually part of a much larger system which is called the ignition system. It is mostly found on internal combustion engines. It actually starts off the burning of the fuel mixture that is found in the engine of your car. This is primarily because the fuel mixture in the engine does not just burn and make your car run automatically or else your vehicle would be running nonstop. Most modern engines do make use of an ignition system.

The key to the entire ignition system is your car key although there are some vehicles that make use of a code patch. However, whether it is a key or a code patch, this is what your car needs to actually start and rev up. The key or the code patch actually works to unlock the switch that is found in the ignition slot. The key or the code patch also switches the operations of your vehicle off.

If your car’s ignition switch seems to be locked up and would not budge, automobile experts and mechanics actually say that this is primarily because the wheels of your vehicle are jammed against the curb through which the switch moves about.

To remove such a lock up, you should first make sure that the transmission system of your vehicle is in park mode. So that the vehicle would not roll further up against the curb, it is important to put the parking brake. Then you should pull hard and with much force on the steering wheel. While you are doing this, turn it in both directions so as to free the wheel.

If after doing this and the ignition is still stuck, you should release the parking brake. Instead, put the transmission in neutral position. Then let up on the foot pedal. This would rock the car slightly and make your ignition switch work once again.

Traditional wood box sash windows

Box sash windows are extremely popular in old and new houses in the UK and the United States. Originally sash windows were fitted to Victorian and Georgian properties. Box sash windows were traditionally made from hardwood or softwood but are now widely available in UPVC. Traditional sliding sash windows were single glazed units but nowadays are available in single glazing and as double glazed box sash windows. The term sash window refers to a type of window that has sliding panels usually with a weight and pulley system for opening the sliding window panes.

Box sash wooden windows are made with a hollow section within the window frame that holds the sash weights. The sash weights are attached to a sash cord that is in turn connected to the sliding window pane. Commonly the sash weights in the weight and pulley system are made from lead, although more recently some sash weights are made from steel. The sash cord is manufactured from braided cotton that has been pre-stretched and has a polished finish to prevent wear. Some of the newer sash cords are made from other materials and man made fibres such as polypropylene and nylon for increased abrasion resistance.

Box sash windows can be made from various different softwoods or hardwoods. Some woods used to manufacture box sashes are Mahogany, American white Oak, Pine and European Redwood. The timber used to manufacture sash windows should be vacuum pressure treated with preservatives and wax resins for maximum protection. It is also advisable to make sure wooden box sash windows have been treated with an insecticide and fungicide. This will prevent damage to the box sash windows from wood boring insects and protect against wood rotting fungus. Usually even box sash windows manufactured from pressure treated softwood will still have hardwood used for the window sills.

The traditional Georgian sash window would have six panes of glass in each section of the sliding sash window. Therefore ending up with a window containing a total of four panes of glass down by three panes of glass across. This configuration of the window panes is not compulsory for sash windows and sashes are available in many different styles and designs to suit the particular property. During the Victorian era many properties had bay windows fitted with sliding box sashes. Other Victorian style windows were Oriel windows and Queen Anne windows.

Windows are available in a variety of finishes from stained or varnished wood to gloss paint in a variety of colours. Hardwood and Softwood timber framed sash windows can be stained or varnished to enhance the natural grain and colour of the timber. Box sash windows requiring a painted finish should be treated with a quality primer or undercoat first before the top coat is applied.

New and replacement wooden framed box sash windows are now available with double glazing for maximum energy efficiency. While still made from traditional timber and manufactured in keeping with the original buildings facade the property owners can still benefit from double glazing. The double glazed box sash window can provide sound proofing and thermal insulation for the period home.

The dreams for kids team will race across america-but not on sunday

The Race Across America (RAAM) is a 3053-mile race across the country beginning in Oceanside, CA and ending in Atlantic City, NJ.

RAAM is known as the world’s toughest event. Through deserts and over mountains, in conditions that will range from cold, heat, snow, rain, darkness and blazing sun, the finishers of this non-stop race across the United States will have climbed nearly 110,000 feet, equal to traveling a distance from the ground to the edge of space, four times the altitude of Mt. Everest.

Those few riders to reach the finish line will have traveled a combined distance equal to circling the earth at the equator four times.

There are solo riders, two-person teams, four-person teams and eight-person teams. The four-person team race begins at 2 PM Pacific Time on Tuesday, June 13 and ends at 12 PM Eastern Time on Friday, June 23. In other words, the four-person teams have 9 days and 19 hours, or 235 hours to finish the race.

Dreams for Kids, a 501© (3), non-profit children’s charity, which is volunteer based and raises it donations through community fundraising and special events such as RAAM, works primarily to improve the lives of kids with disabilities. I am racing for Dreams for Kids.

The Dreams for Kids cycling team, however, only has 8 days and 19 hours, or 211 hours of riding time to finish the race. This is because the Dreams for Kids team will not be riding on Sunday. As a member of the Dreams for Kids team, I am often asked, “Why aren’t you riding on Sunday?” Let me explain.

I believe the Bible to be the word of God, and in the Bible it says:

(1) that God created the earth and its inhabitants in six days, that He rested on the seventh day, and that He blessed and sanctified the seventh day (Genesis 2:1-3);

(2) to remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy (Exodus 20:8);

(3) if you keep the Sabbath day holy you will “eat your bread to the full” and that you will lie down with peace and not be afraid (Leviticus 26:2-6).

I believe that we are God’s children, that He loves us, and that when we do what He asks us to do He blesses us abundantly.

The word Sabbath comes from the Hebrew word shabbath, meaning day of rest.

Therefore, to keep the Sabbath day holy, I believe we are to rest from our labors, rest from our selfish interests, and rest from our self-absorbing activities.

The Sabbath is also the Lord’s day, and thus while it is a day for resting from our labors, it is also a day for us to do His work. It is a day to pray and worship, a day to visit the sick and distressed, a day to perform acts of kindness, a day to read and meditate.

I truly believe that if I remember the Sabbath and keep it holy, I will prosper far more than if I was to labor on that day. Once again, I believe we are God’s children, that He loves us, and that if we keep His commandments He will bless us in ways that bring everlasting peace and happiness.

I do not mean to be lofty or obnoxious towards those who do not believe as I do, but as noted above, I am often asked why I am not racing on Sunday, and for me, the peace I have and the blessings I believe will come from keeping the Sabbath day holy are far more valuable than winning a race.

Fun robots for less than 30

Did you know that there are a host of robots that you can purchase in the market today that are loads of fun to have around the house? The great news is that they are not that expensive. The following are some of the more popular robots available for less than $30. You will be amazed at what they can do.

The first of our cheap yet chintzy robots is called the Idog and is promoted as a robotic pooch. It looks pretty odd, actually. One reviewer said it resembles "a collision between a bag of marshmallows and a cell phone, with vague canine overtones." The cool thing about this dog is that you feed it with music and it enthusiastically shows its delight through a series of movements and blinking lights. The robot canine can wiggle its ears, sway its head and flash its eyes in tune to the music. Manufacturers say the dog will actually develop a "personality" in accordance to the music you feed it.

The "Shooter Bots: The Game" toy consists of a robot tank that tracks people down and a gun that you use to shoot at the tank. The Shooter Bots can track and follow you around the house wherever you go using the gun as a homing device and then shoot you with its red laser ammunition. If you think hiding will be your salvation, you underestimate the darn thing. For instance, if you decide to hide behind the door, the robot can bounce its infrared light off a nearby shiny object to hit you on the rebound.

The Mini Roboraptor from WowWee Robotics looks like one of those terrible raptors on the "Jurassic Park" film series but this one is made of silver and white plastic. No, it doesn't growl or attack other stuff and rip it to shreds like those other raptors. Mainly, the robot dinosaur just walks around the room as if searching for prey.

The Amatron Robotic Arm from Edu Science is not a whole robot but a mechanical arm that moves. A push of a button will retract the arm while another button controls its claw to pick up and grip objects. Overall, it’s an interesting device and a great conversation piece.

The history of canadian diamonds

It is said the sparkle from canadian diamond rings mimics the eerie and enchanting radiance of the Northern Lights. This is a bit of a romantic notion as it is actually the cut of the diamond, not its national identity that makes it twinkle like a Northern star. Still Canadian diamonds are among the whitest in the world. Thanks to stringent government regulations in the Northwest Territories they are also extremely high quality. This Canadian reputation for integrity means that canadian diamond rings are competing well in the gem stone jewelry market.

Canadian diamonds are also quite special because they have only been around about thirty years. Prior to their discovery in Canada's Artic north in 1985, the finest quality diamonds were sourced from South Africa. This monopoly was put to an end when two Canadian geologists, Charles Fipke and his partner Stuart Blusson discovered a large vein of Kimberlite near Lac De Gras in the Yukon, Canada. This discovery was exciting as Kimberlite is the ideal stone-growing medium for high quality diamonds. Soon after this, in 1991, yet another source of diamonds in Kimberlite was found in Nunavit in the Northwest Territories.

The money to extract these diamonds comes from the Canadian government and the gemstones that are produced are also certified by the government body. This means that unlike many diamonds that you can buy today, the Canadian diamond can be traced back to the diamond it was mined from. Canadian diamonds are also etched with a serial number as well as a teensy microscopic image of a polar bear or a maple leaf. All diamonds mined in this conscientious country come with a Canadian Triple Guarantee, which assures the quality and purity of the rock.

In the last thirty years, Canada has risen to become one of the top three producers of gemstone quality diamonds in the world. Although South Africa produces the most diamonds, many of them are for industrial and technological uses. Currently Canada is the third top producer of diamonds for rings behind Botswana and Russia.

Two of the largest diamond mines in Canada are located very near and just north of the city of Yellowknife in the North West Territories. Two mines are operated in this area - the Diavik and Ekati mines. The third big mine, called Jericho-3 just started mining operations in 2005 in Nunavut. A fourth mine called Snap Lake-4, which is in Northern Ontario (and quite a bit south of the other three diamond mines) is scheduled to begin production in 2007.

Charles Fipke and Stewart Blusson, the geologists who originally discovered the vein of Kimberlite, own Canada's first diamond mine, the Ekati Mine, along with the Australian mining conglomerate BHP Billton. This treasure trove is expected to be in production for the next two decades. It currently produces four per cent of the world's fine diamonds.

The Diavik mine is cooperatively owned by a British mining called Rio Tinto PLC and the the Aber Diamond Corp that is based in Toronto, Ontario. It has been in production since 2003. It produces 8,000,000 carats of diamonds. This mine sells $100,000,000 worth of gemstones a year. This mine is expected to be in production for the next two decades and is currently responsible for providing 5% of the worlds gemstone quality diamonds.

The Jericho-3 mine is located near the north end of Contwoyto Lake in West Kitikmeot in the Canadian Territory of Nunavut. It is operated by the Tahera Diamond Corporation, which has been researching the viability of operating the mine year round in Nunavit's harsh climate. It has only been in business for several months but it is projected to be a generous resource of glittering diamonds for at least the next eight years.

You know a diamond deposit is serious valuable when DeBeers decides to get a piece of the action. The Snap Lake mine, that is scheduled to open next year is owned and operated by the gargantuan South African mining company. This particular mine is located beneath a lake in the James Bay Lowlands of Northern Ontario. The nearest community is the coastal village of Attawapiskat. This mine, which requires a great deal of technological innovation to extract the Canadian diamonds from beneath tons of water, apparently has a rich deposit of gems that will produce for at least eight years.

One of the great things about this mine is they have gone a long way towards making Canada's indigenous people, Indians and Eskimos, quite wealthy The mines provide high-income jobs with an average salary of $63,000. These are permanent jobs that are currently handled by aboriginal peoples such as the Dene First Nation. When you buy canadian diamonds you are also supporting an indigenous culture.

The relatively recent discoveries of these diamond mines have caused a flurry of excitement, not unlike the Yukon Gold Rush. According to Statistics Canada, by February 2004 prospecting companies from all over the world laid claim to more than 70 million acres in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. The most dramatic increase in diamond prospecting is in Nunavut in Northern Ontario, where the number of prospecting permits grew to 1,518 in 2004 from just 190 in 2003.

Over the years, Canadian Diamonds have earned quite a reputation for quality and integrity. As they are traceable, you know that they are not sold to fund terrorism in Angola or other African countries. Canadian diamonds are of very high quality with their most precious characteristic being their brilliant white color. This is especially true of the diamonds that come from the Ekati mines. Their purity and clarity makes a stellar diamond engagement ring.

According to Statistics Canada, 13.8 million carats of diamonds worth approximately $2.8 billion were mined in Canada between 1998 and 2002. This means that every day, Canadian mines produce $1.5 million worth of diamonds, which is the equivalent of a 1.5 kilogram bag full of the gems. Overall, Canada now produces 15% of the world's diamonds in total and this trend towards prosperity will increase providing the weather cooperates and these mines are always allowed to operate with year round efficiency.

Adding from left to right -- a better way to add

More than likely, when you learned how to add, you started on the right and moved to the left. If you were adding whole numbers, you added the ones, "carried" if necessary, and repeated for the tens, hundreds and so on. This works well on paper, and it is the most efficient paper and pencil method; however, adding in the other direction has several desirable advantages: the left to right method promotes a better understanding of place value, it can be done mentally with much greater ease, and it does not require that numbers be lined up in a column. Students can learn left to right addition, so they have another method to choose from when presented with addition problems.

Left to right addition involves adding the largest place values first. As you move from left to right, you keep a cumulative total, so it is simply a number of smaller addition problems. To give you an idea of how it works and what it sounds like, consider the example, 677 + 938.

Begin by adding the left most place values. In the example this is 600 plus 900 equals 1500. Add the values in the next place, one at a time, to the previous sum, and keep track of the new sum each time. In the example, 1500 + 70 is 1570, 1570 + 30 is 1600. For students who are more proficient at this algorithm, they don't necessarily think "plus 70" or "add 30." Their thought process, if said out loud might sound like, "600, 1500, 1570, 1600, . . ." Continue adding the values in each subsequent place until finished. The final steps in the example are 1600 + 7 is 1607, 1607 plus 8 is 1615. The sum is 1615.

As you can imagine, students need to be proficient at single digit addition and have an understanding of place value before attempting left to right addition. When they are first learning it, they might try repeating sums as they go along (e. g. 1500, 1570, 1570, 1570, 1600, . . .) to help them retain the newest sums. They might also cross out digits as they are adding. There is no rule about having to add in this way mentally. Students could write down the sums as they proceed.

Left to right addition promotes a better understanding of place value than right to left addition. In right to left addition, single digits are carried or regrouped with little emphasis placed on what the value of those carried digits are. In the example, 1246 + 586, students add 6 + 6 to get 12; they write down the 2 and carry the 1 when they should be carrying the ten. In the next step, they add 8 + 4 + 1 to get 13; they write down the 3 and carry the 1 when they should be adding 80 + 40 + 10, writing the 3 in the tens place (i. e. 30) and carrying the hundred. Essentially, right to left addition excludes vocabulary related to place value. Left to right addition, on the other hand, promotes an understanding of place value as each digit is given its correct value. In the example, the one in the thousands place is one thousand, the two in the hundreds place is two hundred, and so on.

Left to right addition is well-suited to mental addition since the sum is cumulative with no steps in between; in other words, there is nothing for the student to keep in mind except for the cumulative sum. In right to left addition, several numbers must be remembered as the student proceeds. To illustrate this, consider the simple example, 64 + 88. In left to right addition, the sum is simple to find: 60, 140, 144, 152. Only one number had to be remembered at any point. In right to left addition, 4 + 8 is 12, so there are already two numbers to remember: the two in the ones place and the regrouped ten. The next step is to add 60 + 80 + 10 to get 150. At this point, the two must be recalled and added to the 150 to get 152. Although this sounds simple, it becomes more complicated with more digits.

Right to left addition does not require numbers to be lined up in a column, but it is often taught that way because the method tends to ignore place value and relies on a student's ability to line up the place values to compensate. Many errors that students make in right to left addition occur because they don't have a strong knowledge of place value, and they forget or don't realize that like place values need to be lined up. They might, for instance, add a digit in the tens place to a digit in the hundreds place. Another scenario is a sloppy recording of numbers where a digit is mistakenly added to the wrong column. In left to right addition, the emphasis is on finding a certain place value in each number rather than relying on the place values being aligned. Students, of course, need to be able to recognize place value before they can be successful at this method. For instance, they should be able to recognize that the ones in the numbers: 514, 1499, and 321 are in the tens, thousands, and ones places respectively. If they can't, further teaching on place value is required before addition can be taught effectively.

Although left to right addition has several advantages, it isn't suggested that you scrap everything else. Learning a wide variety of addition methods allows you latitude in problem solving situations. By teaching students this method, you give them another option when they are tackling addition questions.

Women s western jeans go mainstream

What makes women's western jeans "women's western jeans"? Of course there's the fact that most of them have the unmistakable flair leg and "boot cut" - making them wearable with your favorite pair of cowgirl boots. Lots of western jean manufacturers, such as Rocky Mountain Jeans also show a slim fit, straight leg jean, or "slim" jeans at they call them. Then of course there's the ornamentation on some of them. Some western jeans can be very fancy. They are embellished with floral designs on the leg below the knee, some have patches and embroidery on the back pockets. Still other western jeans are studded with varying designs of rhinestones and faux turquoise and some have peek-a-boo cut out designs.

Western jeans have followed the low rise trend, with some brands such as Cruel Girl jeans having what they call their "Legacy" super low rise jeans. Some have button fly closures. Wrangler, a jean maker for almost sixty years now is still big in western wear and they are also following trends with low rise and button fly women's western jeans.

Western jeans come in all types of denim washes, from dark blue denim to faded stonewash and everything in between. Prefer robin's egg blue or electric pink? You'll find them too. Going to a special event or want a dressier jean? How about black. Some western jean manufacturers such as Lawman's are also making jeans in stretch material - a comfortable blessing for most women.

So, it seems that western jeans come in such as array of styles, colors, designs and fabrics that you can find just about any type of jean you're looking for.

What makes western jeans "western jeans" in my mind is the shirt, belt, shoes and other "accessories", along with the state of mind that a women picks to go with them. When a woman pairs her jeans with pink crocodile Ariat slip ons or Justin Caliente boots in red she's saying "these are western jeans." When she chooses a decidedly country shirt, one with embroidery and a vintage yolk, she's saying "these are western jeans."

When she pairs those jeans with a pair of open toe wedges or a pair of tri color leather platform oxfords, a flimsy mesh tunic, a silk v neck camisole with spaghetti straps or a charmeuse wrap top she's taking western jeans to a whole new level.

Is lower back pain a barrier to your fitness routine

Regular exercise is an important component of any balanced, healthy lifestyle. Unfortunately, for many people chronic lower back pain makes exercise-or just about any other type of activity-painful and sometimes impossible.

Lower back pain affects each of us at some point in our lives and is one of the leading causes for physician visits. According to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), approximately six million Americans each year see their physician because of lower back pain, and nearly 500,000 require hospitalization.

However, as medical professionals learn more about the causes and effects of chronic back pain, their approaches to treatment are changing. For example, fewer doctors prescribe bed rest. Not only can that course of treatment result in stiff or weakened muscles, but physical inactivity can lead to more serious long-term problems, such as weight gain, heart disease and diabetes. Today's patients have a range of treatment options, with most encouraging at least some type of physical activity.

Experts say that moderate exercise, three to five times per week, will not only improve overall fitness but will also decrease the likelihood of further back injury. Here are a few tips from the North American Spine Society and The Physician and Sportsmedicine Journal to help get you back to a regular exercise regimen:

• Use physician-approved stretches to loosen the lower and upper back and related muscles, including hamstrings and quadriceps.

• Strengthen muscles that support the back and work to improve the back's flexibility.

• Do exercise with proper form to maximize benefits and minimize strain.

"We always try to perform treatments that help patients maintain and even increase their level of activity. A person in good physical shape is much less likely than an inactive one to injure their back during work or daily activities," says Nagy Mekhail, M. D., Ph. D., chairman of the Department of Pain Management at the Cleveland Clinic. "Healthy living means lower-back-pain sufferers see better results. Those who cannot be active take longer to recover."

When lower back pain interferes with daily activities and exercise, patients should consult a physician to learn more about their condition and treatment options.

For some patients, nonoperative therapeutic treatments such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) and physical therapy may provide relief. For others, lower back pain can be traced to the slow degeneration of the vertebral discs, a condition know as chronic "disc-related or discogenic" lower back pain. With age or injury, cracks and fissures may develop in the wall of the disc. Small nerve endings find their way into the cracks causing chronic pain. Patients with this type of pain may benefit from aggressive procedures such as spinal fusion and disc replacement surgery or minimally invasive approaches, such as the Intradiscal ElectroThermal Therapy™ (IDET™) procedure.

Clinical studies indicate that 60 to 80 percent of IDET procedure patients achieve a 50 percent reduction in lower back pain following the procedure. Studies also show that patients require less medication after the procedure to manage pain, and are more likely to return to work.

The pros of a personal golf mat

Have you ever met a golfer who did not have gizmos, gadgets, and other little widgets stuffed in his bag or hidden away in the garage designed somehow to improve their game? Players love these things for some reason and often buy them even when common sense tells them the thing won’t work or do as it says it will do. Yet of all the things a player might buy to improve his game, a golf mat is usually far down the list.

In the old days, the only place to find a pad was on the practice range. To some degree, that is still true for most people. But before you race out to buy another addition to your garage consider why you should even consider owning one. A golf mat can be the most valuable and useful items that any player can have on hand. It is vital that you practice on something that feels and acts like real grass. Understanding the reasoning behind purchasing something of high-quality and with a guarantee to protect the consumer from common wear just amounts to good common sense.

You should keep in mind that the last thing we want when we are practicing our swing mechanics is to be learning the wrong swing. That can happen if you are standing on a pad that is made of inferior material, something that most driving ranges have on hand. It seems counterproductive to be using the driving range to improve your game when you are doing just the opposite. What you need is to be standing on something that matches what grass would feel like to train your body the proper movements to hit that long drive.

Another issue is you can no longer use driving range cushions that allow pre-set rubber tees. With today’s new drivers, it is imperative that you be able to set your own tee to the right height in order to make the best shot. The height of the tee is different for each person, making it wholly impractical to use a standardized setting for the tee. The golf mat should allow for various sizes and allow for this vital height variation to be adjusted at the golfer’s discretion.

As for the question of durability, let’s face it, if you hit something enough with a golf club time and time again, it needs to be tough and durable. It should be strong enough to stand up to foot traffic as well as the occasional poor drive. Something backed by a guarantee shows a company’s commitment to their product.

When selecting a golf mat fitting all of these qualifications, you should look at J. R. Mats, Inc.’s unique Country Club Elite T-turf™ system found at their website realfeelgolfmats. com. This exciting new product comes in various sizes to fit just about anyone’s needs and they are a snap to store away. They are currently offering some great bonus gifts as well that you might want to check out and read up on this amazing new product.

Tips to build a successful portfolio

Walking through the financial maze of stocks, bonds and mutual funds can be quite a challenge. American Century Investments offers the following tips to give you the know-how on building a profitable portfolio.

* Know your goals. Consider how much money you'll need for your children's education or your retirement. Whatever your vision for the future might be, set your goals and develop a concrete plan for meeting them.

* Define your investment time horizon. If you're not planning on retiring anytime soon, you might want to have a portfolio that includes more long-term investments. If retirement is just around the corner, consider a more conservative approach.

* Determine your risk tolerance. Figure out your risk comfort level and compare that with what you can afford. In general, the longer you have to invest, the bigger risk you can take.

* Consult a professional. In order to avoid financial pitfalls later on, it is often wise to seek professional guidance when putting together a portfolio.

"Recent research shows that investors continue to grapple with some of the most basic investment concepts, suggesting a greater need for financial advice and guidance," said Doug Lockwood, a certified financial planner.

To help investors meet their financial goals, American Century Investments has developed On Plan Investing, a program designed to help investors build and maintain diversified investment portfolios - at no additional cost.

Combining educational tools, advice, market insight and investment products, On Plan Investing helps investors develop a personal investment strategy, whether they are new to investing, seeking guidance but still want control over their investment mix, need help positioning their portfolios with a long-term perspective or need help understanding how the markets work.

Use bad credit home loan to get funds despite poor credit ratings

:
Blemishes appear in the credit report when a borrower misses a credit card payment; defaults on loan installments or doesn’t pay his bills on time. A sharp eye is kept on these events by the credit rating agencies and they label such a borrower as a bad credit case. This serves as a warning to prospective lenders. Bad credit people, when they look for loans, often find it very hard because the lenders are adversely influenced by their credit history. However, if the borrower has a property or house, which he can offer as collateral for the loan, lenders become more flexible and underwrite their loans. A bad credit home loan becomes the saving grace for people with bad credit.

The most popular use of a bad credit home loan is to consolidate existing debts. In this process many debts with different lenders and nagging installments are clubbed into a single loan with a single monthly installment. A bad credit home loan is also used to buy a new car, to fund an exotic cruise, to pay existing credit card debts or to finance any home improvement plan. A bad credit home loan is very convenient way of securing a large loan, which otherwise would have been very difficult for those with poor credit.

Bad credit home loans due to their inherent risk come with a relatively high interest rate. Depending on how a borrower ranks on the credit scale he can expect typical APR (Annual Percentage Rates) ranging from 9% to 30%. Since, a bad credit home loan uses the house of the borrower as the collateral it is a secured loan. The repayment term for such a loan can vary between 5 to 20 years. A borrower can expect sums between Ј5000 and Ј50,000. This amount is limited by the value of collateral offered to the lender and the repayment capacity of the borrower. Taking the credit history into account the lenders feel it safe to give amounts up to 70% of the collateral value. The monthly installments of such loans are quite small and easily manageable, so these loans are very popular with bad credit people.

Since the interest rates, property valuation fees, solicitor’s fees, conveyance and other office charges can increase the costs of the loan tremendously, it would be a wise decision if the borrower shops around and gets the best deal. Heading straight to the first lender who promises a loan might compromise a borrower’s interest in the long run. A bad credit home loan with low interest rates and minimal fees can save a fortune for the borrower.

There are online lenders, specializing in bad credit home loans, which have a good experience in dealing with people with adverse credit ratings. Sensitive to the concerns of those with a poor credit, they often come up with innovative lending options to incorporate their borrowing requirements. Gone are the days when applying for a bad credit home loan was a daunting task involving a heap-load of paperwork. Most of the frontline lenders now have online presence and offer online application facilities. Filling up of these applications takes a very short period in fact just minutes and can be done from practically anywhere - the only requirement is a computer with an internet connection. A toll-free number is also mentioned on the websites of most of the prestigious lenders. It can be used to apply for a bad credit home loan. Many lenders offer an in-principle approval for a bad credit home loan within 24 hours. Best offers from the choicest lenders and a hassle free bad credit home loan awaits a borrower if he/she applies to the right online lender.

Whisk it all out an overall guide to whiskey

Unless you’re one of the few nice people around who hasn’t even savored a drop of liquor in their whole lives, chances are that you’re at least marginally familiar of the drink whiskey. Whiskey – which is also spelled by other without the letter E – is the name used for a wide variety of delicious and distilled liquors that are produced from grains and later on aged in oak casts. Due to its grain content, a lot of people believe that whiskey is a good type of liquor to drink. In fact, there are numerous couples both in the United States and Europe who prefer to feed their babies whiskey rather than milk or water.

Whisk It that Way: How to Drink Whiskey

In the old days, Puritans had a very specific etiquette when it comes to drinking whiskey. For them, whiskey must be purely enjoyed from a tulip-shaped glass with a dash of still water. The addition of still water is necessary to maximize the uniquely delicious aroma of whiskey. Keep in mind that ice actually mutes rather than strengthens the aroma of whiskey.

Examples of whiskey-containing cocktails are the Manhattan, Whiskey Sour, Irish coffee and the very much simple ginger ale for people who are not used to drinking whiskey or any liquor for that matter.

How Do You Whisk It: The Different Kinds of Whiskey

The type of grain used in a certain mixture is usually the sole differentiating factor for the various kinds of whiskey available in the market today.

Scotch Whiskey – these drinks are usually distilled twice and aged for at least three years

Irish Whiskey – whiskey of this type would have to undergo distillation thrice and then spend at least four years in oak casts before it can be considered “drinkable”

American Straight Whiskey – these drinks require the use of a mash bill containing at least 51% or anything less than 80% of a single grain. The aging process must take place in new barrels made from American white oak that are charred prior to use.

Malt Whiskey – this term is only used for whiskeys made from 100% malted barley and nothing else. A single-malt whiskey on the other hand is exclusively produced by just one distillery and is the most expensive type of whiskey that’s out in the market. Its one-distillery production makes it taste highly distinguishable from other malted whiskeys.

Pure Pot Still Whiskey – a kind of Irish whiskey, pure pot still whiskey is produced mainly by combining malted and unmalted barley.

Blended Whiskey – this is the name used to describe whiskies of different kinds that are blended together and contains straight whiskey as well as neutral spirits; its production process permits distilleries to preserve quite a consistent flavor and mellower than single-malt whiskeys.

Places to Whisk It: Significant Geographical Locations in the History of Whiskey Production

Scotland – Although all types of whiskey are made in Scotland, their favorite type of whiskey would be single-malt Scotches. Scottish people also prefer to call whiskeys as “whisky”. Well-known Scottish brands of whiskey would be Glenmorangie, Chivas Regal and Glenlivet.

United States – The producers of whiskeys such as Bourbon, Tennesee and even the home brewed whiskey version called Moonshine, North America is also fond of calling Scotch whiskeys simply as “Scotch”. Jim Beam Black Label and Jack Daniels are examples of Popular American brands of whiskey.

Ireland – Because of their triple distillation and 4 year aging process, Irish whiskeys are acclaimed for their extra smoothness and flavorful taste. Famous Irish whiskey brands would be Connemara and Tullamore Dew.

4 keys to freeing yourself from debt

Debt is a way of life for many Americans. We owe money on our homes, our cars, our possessions (from furniture to clothes), and our education. Many Americans are so mired in debt they aren't even sure just how much they owe and to whom -- even worse they sometimes don't even remember just what caused their debt.

Some debt is good for you. For example, what you owe on your home can provide a nice way to balance out your income tax. A little debt is not a bad thing either as making regular payments to various creditors helps build your credit rating which makes it easier for you to obtain loans at good rates. However the truth is that most Americans have more than a little debt -- and many owe far too much money and are already, or soon will be, in financial trouble as a result.

Finding yourself owing a lot of money is not the end of the road and you can stop your cycle of debt by taking four positive steps to break the cycle.

First, attack your high-cost debts. This likely includes credit cards where you may be paying high minimum payments and high interest rates. Pay off the balances on credit cards carrying the highest interest rates first. Continue making your minimum payments for lower-interest cards but concentrate on paying off the highest interest. When the high-cost cards are paid off then work to eliminate the balances on your other cards.

Second, reach out to your creditors. If you are going to be late or have difficulty paying your minimum payments then contact the credit card company. Even if you can make all your payments in a timely fashion there are two benefits you can reap from contacting the card issuer. First, you may be able to negotiate lower rates or more favorable terms. Second, they might be able to recommend alternatives that can minimize damage to your credit rating.

Third, consolidate your debts as much as possible. You can accomplish this a number of ways. One possibility is simply transferring balances from one credit card to another with a lower rate, but be aware of transfer fees before choosing this option. Another possibility, if you own your own home, is to take out a home-equity loan or line of credit which should have a lower interest rate than most credit cards can offer as well as offering tax deductions. Finally, you can also consider a secured loan offering the value in another form of property, your vehicle for example.

Fourth, don't sacrifice your retirement savings. Obviously paying off your debt should be a high financial priority but cutting what you save for retirement to do so may not be the wisest course -- especially if that becomes a long term habit or if you are losing out on your employer's matching funds as a result. Perhaps you may be able to borrow against (or from) your retirement funds at a lower interest rate which will allow you to continue to save for retirement while also getting out from under your debt.

While owing money may well be the American way it can also be a tremendous burden to bear. You can shed the weight of your load or at least trim it down to a more manageable level by taking these four steps.

Ways to promote your website on a limited budget

Many if not most of the individuals that are starting out on the path of promoting their online business have a very limited budget. While a few individuals have access to a substantial promotion or advertising budget, they are indeed the fortunate minority in my experience. The good news is that you do not have to have deep pockets to promote your web business on the internet. In this particular respect the world wide web is a relatively level playing field, at least compared with traditional media outlets. Furthermore, it is my opinion that if you are just starting out, it is a good idea to focus on organic promotion methods on the internet anyway. The reason is that if you just throw money at the problem of promotion without some knowledge of how the internet advertising world really works, you will quite possibly fall into one of the many pitfalls that are waiting for you in this arena. I know I did in the beginning. As the old saying goes, a fool and his money are soon parted. So start small and spend more money as your experience level increases. As a start, I strongly suggest that you read the book by Jay Conrad Levinson entitled 'Online Guerrila Marketing Techniques'. It goes into much more detail than is possible within the scope of this article. It is must read for online 'netpreneurs' as he calls them.

He spends a lot of time on each and every individual step of the process and makes many crucial distinctions. Assuming your website is already functional and that it has the optimal words and phrases you wish to be found under, you can then begin the ardous but satisfying process of promoting it on the web. The idea of course is that the more eyeballs see your website, the better. There are many ways to do this, luckily, but it makes sense to start with the those methods which take the longest and then proceed from there. That is the reason that I prefer to begin my promotion efforts by submitting my website to the relevant web directories. This is because and it can literally can take weeks or even months to be approved in some web directories, particularly the very prestigious ones such as the DMOZ or Open Directory Project. Make sure to navigate to the correct category before submitting, of course.

The great thing about directories is it will increase your inbound links and you will never have to submit your website to the search engines if you are listed on several web directory sites. The search engine 'Robots' will automatically spider and index your site if you are listed on any established web directory. Next you will want to write an article pertaining to the content of your website, and then submit that article, along with your website URL in the byline, to the major article directories such as Ezinearticles and Article City. Whoever uses your article as content on their website or ezine must have a direct link back to your site. What is wonderful about this method is the viral marketing aspect of it. In other words, if you write a good article it will continually used by webmaster for months and even years later, continually promoting your site on an ongoing basis long after you submitted the article.

Next you will want to join some discussion forums which feature subject matter that is similar to your website's theme. So, for example if you run a real estate and investing website you will want to join a forum or message board related to these topics or something similar. These boards will generally allow you to have a signature or 'sig line' in which you can put your website address as well as a catch phrase so people will want to click on it. Then just be a part of the discussion normally and you will promote your online business as you do. The same goes for newsgroups or the usenet. These are just different types of discussion forums. You may then proceed on to the free classified type websites. The biggest is the San Francisco based craigslist. org but there are actually many to choose from. Just type in those words in your favorite search engine and hundreds will come up. Choose the ones at the top as they are generally the most popular.

I also recommend ezine advertisements because you can usually find your site's specific niche. There are ezines about health, finance, sports, technology and almost any other topic you can think of. You can find lists at places like Topica and Bpubs. This is inexpensive advertisement, for the most part. Then and only then would I proceed on to the more costly online advertising such as pay per click and banner advertisements.

By this time you will have a good feel for what works and what does not, which will save you a lot of money. If you are not careful, online marketing can become a money pit real fast so stick to the basics and implement a true guerrilla marketing campaign augmented by some paid advertising. After you do some testing and find out which type is bringing in the highest quality traffic you will know where to focus.

Credit card debt - what is the answer

Credit card debt has been an ongoing problem ever since the credit card was created in 1950. People were going into debt at an astounding rate. It wasn't very long before the people were in so much debt that they couldn't possibly pay it all back.

The federal government noticed that Americans were in over their heads. So they invented a plan and called it "Credit Counseling". Credit counseling was created as a means for the average American to find out what steps he could take in order to relieve his debt. The credit counseling companies were supposed to set up a payback plan that would get the average American out of debt within 10-15 years. This plan failed miserably.

Nobody has ever gotten out of debt using a credit counseling plan. In fact, those that joined the plan found themselves in the same amount of debt 10 years later. Credit counseling had failed. So the federal government steps in again.

The federal government paved the way for debt consolidation companies to join the mix. Debt consolidation allows you to take out a loan, using your equity, to join all of your debt into one lump-sum loan with one payment. Sounds great right? WRONG!

Debt consolidation allows you to take out a loan against your equity to pay for a non-equity debt. Sounds great at first, until you miss a payment. Now you've lost your house. You used your credit cards to buy non-equity items, and now you've lost your equity to pay these things off. You've given everything you had to become debt-free, and now you have nothing, but your debt still exists.

The debt problem in America is ongoing to this day, and has gradually gotten worse. It seems that nobody has a way to help. It seems that nobody is able to clear your debt. And now, with the new bankruptcy laws in place, you are in even more trouble trying to become debt-free. So what is the answer?

DEBT SETTLEMENT! You have the option of choosing a debt settlement company to settle your debts for you. This option provides debt relief like no other program can. Instead of paying 100% of your debt total and running the risk of losing your equity, you can now pay about half that amount and not have to worry about the difference.

Credit card companies are very aware of the debt problem in America. They know that nobody is able to pay back these debt accounts. They also realize that if they don't collect any money, then they will go broke. They need to be able to collect payments to stay in business. With the debt problem being so big, they have to take a few cuts in order to help resolve the problem.

Debt settlement companies settle your unsecured debt (credit card debt) for a fraction of the total debt amount. For example, if you owe $20,000 to a creditor, then a debt settlement company will offer $10,000 to pay that debt off without owing the other $10,000.

Credit card companies are reluctant to take this type of offer if they think that they can collect the whole amount. They use "scare tactics" to try to get consumers to pay in full. They will threaten to take your house, your car, your kids, and garnish your wages. These are all smoke and mirror threats, but they don't want you to know that.

A debt settlement company intervenes and works directly with the creditors, taking the calls for you. They are not scared by these tactics, and they know how to respond to them. That is how they are able to settle your debt for a fraction of the debt amount.

If you need to contact a debt settlement company that will fight for your right to become debt-free, then see superiordebtrelief. com for more information.

Save at work to make securing your financial future easier

Many Americans are lucky enough to work for employers who provide some form of savings plan for the benefit of their employees.

Employer-sponsored savings plans can be an effective way to build a retirement nest egg. Through the benefits of tax-deferred compounding and, in many cases, employer matching funds, many people find they can save exponentially more through an employer-sponsored plan than they could on their own.

The 401(k) plan is the most well-known employer-sponsored retirement savings plan in America that serves those who work for corporations. There is also a similar plan specifically designed for state and municipal government workers, known as the 457 plan. For tax-exempt employers such as schools, churches or charities, there are 403(b) plans. Whether a corporate 401(k), government 457 or a 403(b), these plans are known as defined contribution plans, which means the money you'll get out at retirement is defined based on how much you contribute.

The beauty of defined contribution plans is that you can decide how much to contribute (up to the IRS limit of $15,000 in 2006) and how the money is invested among the options available in the plan. While some people feel comfortable determining how to invest within the retirement plan on their own, many prefer having the guidance of a financial professional help them choose the investment options that are in sync with their personal investment strategies, time horizon and risk tolerance.

ING, one of the country's leading providers of employer-sponsored retirement plans, points out the distinct benefits of employer-sponsored retirement plans that make building a retirement nest egg easier:

• Convenience of payroll deductions-your employer takes the amount of money you designate directly from your paycheck and stashes it into your retirement savings plan. For many people, this automatic feature helps them keep their retirement savings on track.

• Pre-tax contributions-your overall income tax is calculated on a lower amount, making your income tax burden a little lighter, and there's more left in your savings plan to grow. You pay no income tax on contributions or earnings until your money is withdrawn. There may also be a 10 percent federal penalty for early withdrawal.

• Some employers match employee contributions, adding "free money" to your retirement savings.

• Workplace retirement savings plans allow contributions of up to $15,000, giving people who may be a little behind on reaching their retirement savings goals a chance to catch up a little quicker than they could by investing in a Traditional IRA, which does also offer tax deferral, but currently has a contribution limit of $4,000.

• Professionally managed investment options within the plan oversee the strategy, objectives and management of the underlying investment funds.

Another source of retirement income is an employer pension plan, but these types of plans are becoming less common in this new era of retirement planning. Known as defined benefit plans, where your lifelong income is defined based on the employer's promise of a specific monthly benefit after retirement, pension plans are becoming more and more rare, because of the complexity and costs required and shouldered by the employer. Some employers still offer pensions, though-for example, many teachers are covered by employer-paid pension plans-but they are increasingly being phased out.

Without the big pensions of yesteryear, and with the future of Social Security uncertain, many retirees may find their plans for retirement income coming up short. Whatever employer-sponsored plan you have access to, you should give considerable thought to investing as much as you can, choosing investment options wisely, and monitoring and adjusting your investment options as your investment strategies or market conditions change.

Remember, your financial security is up to you.

Why young parents should choose to work at home

Being a young parent can be quite a demanding stage in life. More often than not, young parents face the dilemma of choosing between parenthood and a corporate career. Yes it is unfair to be in the position where you are made to choose between two of the things that you value most in your life, but the thing is, if your career is too demanding and it often takes you away from your little ones, it is high time for you to re-evaluate your priorities.

Is it possible to have both a flourishing career and a happy family life? Definitely, it is possible to have both. The best way for you to be with your family most of the time while fulfilling your career goals, is to work at home. Thanks to the advancement in technology, you can now work in the comforts of your home with the use of your personal computer with a good internet connection.

There are many advantages of working at home. Not only will you be able to directly supervise the daily activities of your children, you will also have enough time to do the things that you really like to do around the house. Since you do not need to spend a lot of time travelling to and fro the office, you can now have more time to devout to your work and to your other interests. Of course there are also a number of downsides to working at home but if you are a young parent, the downsides of working at home is inconsequential compared to its benefit. Remember that your kids are only young once and if you miss the opportunity to be with them at this stage, you will never have that chance again. They do grow up fast and the next thing you know they are already off on their own.

Home based businesses - separating success from scams

The world is full of home based business opportunities. This is because there are so many people who dream of the day whenever they can work out of their home and don't have to work for somebody else. It is something that sounds very good to many people. The problem with many of these work at home opportunities is that they do not help you, they help those that start the program. Many people who try these types of opportunities get caught up in the hype that surrounds them. They soon find that they end up in an endless cycle of hopping from one opportunity to the next, always reaching out for success but never succeeding. This is a drain on your time and your money. If you want to find success, you need to follow a successful program. Here is how to identify the success and avoid the scams.

One of the most popular scams that is out there is one that tells you that you can work from home and make $500 or $1000 every week, working only one hour per day. All you need to do is send them a few dollars and they will send you back what is necessary for you to get started. One of two things will happen whenever you order this type of product. You can either say goodbye to your money or you will get back a small kit telling you to place classified ads such as the one that you just responded to. You were just scammed and they would like you to make your money back by scamming others.

Multi-level marketing is something that has made a lot of people a good living. The problem with multi-level marketing is that many of the programs are not around for the long term and by the time the end user (you) joins the program it is already on its way out. Even though it is possible to make money with MLM, most people simply end up jumping from program to program and never finding any success at all.

There's an old saying that goes "If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is". You can guarantee that this advice is very sound, especially when you are talking about business opportunities. That doesn't mean, however, that all opportunities are scams and that it is impossible for you to actually be successful following a system.

Whenever you are looking for success with a home-based business, you really need to follow a program that was designed and engineered by marketing leaders. Not only should they give you a realistic goal, they should take you by the hand once you are in the system and guide you through every step of the process. They should also take care of all of the selling and contacting so that you have the opportunity to do what you do best, building the business. By going with an opportunity such as this, you will be certain to find success that will not only be immediate, it will last for many years to come.

Flowerless no problems grow your own organic flowers part 2

Organic pest control

In our opinion pests are a part of nature and should be tolerated, they add to your gardens diversity, organic flowers by definition, will not be like the blemish free supermarket produce that are odorless. Organic flowers will have beautiful flagrances and sweet aromas that you will love.

However there are a few useful tips if you really must get rid of those pesky buggers

One of the best solutions is to buy or lure ladybirds (ladybugs) to spread throughout your garden. Ladybirds are particularly fond of the following plants that you can add to your garden, fennel, dill, cilantro, caraway, angelica, tansy, wild carrot & yarrow.

Ants and termites

You can kill these with an old fashioned trick, boiling water

Aphids

Gardeners best friend the ladybird also try organic insecticidal soap

Caterpillars

Hand pick off individual flowers or try using the organic derris pesticide

Slugs and snails

Another old fashioned trick that does work, set up traps containing beer, barriers can also be helpful

Organic disease control

Most of the diseases are fairly simple to deal with, It is always sensible to try to prevent the diseases from taking hold and spreading in the first place, rather than treating them when they occur.

You can treat black spot a common fungal disease of roses by pruning the bush roses into a goblet shape, use disease resistant cultivars and dust affected plants with sulphur

A new all-round concentrate, serenade garden disease control is an excellent, economical alternative for gardeners, this organic fungicide provides effective disease control against many important garden problems such as mildews, molds, blights, leaf spots, rusts, whilst protecting roses and other flower varieties.

Beneficial predators in your garden

The best way to protect your flowers and promote healthy growth in your garden is to introduce or lure beneficial predators, a good way of doing this is to section a part of your garden off for a natural area containing a pond. Let natural weeds and plants grow here and do not prune, cut or tidy.

List of beneficial predators

Anthocorid bug, Bats, Birds, Centipedes, Earwigs, Frogs, Toads and newts, Beetles, harvestman, Hedgehogs, Hoverflies, Lacewings, Ladybirds (ladybugs), Mites, Nematodes, Parasitic wasps, Slow worm, Spiders, Tachinid flies and Wasps.

Berry good

Long before winter comes, black bears in the forest spend all their time eating everything they can sink their teeth into. During the summer, bears eat and eat and eat, trying to get as fat as they possibly can, and when the weather turns cold, they look for a place to curl up and then they sleep the winter away.

Now, the habits of bears might not seem like something you should try to follow. After all, doctors are always warning us humans that we shouldn’t overeat, and that we shouldn’t spend all of our time lying around, doing nothing.

But there is one part of the black bear’s habits that you should actually try to imitate, because it would be good for your health.

Black bears eat a lot of berries, of many different varieties, such as raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries.

Berries contain natural sugars and wonderful flavors. Unlike many other foods that are really good for you, but which don’t taste good, berries taste great.

And unlike many foods that taste great but which aren’t good for you, berries are among the most health friendly foods you can eat.

It’s only been within the last decade that scientists have started to pay a lot of attention to the health benefits of berries. And what researchers are learning about the health benefits of berries has a lot of exciting potential for human diets.

One of the first major experiments on the health benefits of berries took place at Tufts University about ten years ago.

Researchers were working with a group of aging rats. They fed them diets of various foods to see what the effects would be. Among the foods they tested were strawberries, blueberries, and spinach.

Now these rats were fairly old in terms of “rat years”. In fact, their age was equivalent to humans about 70 years old.

The foods the scientists tested were all very high in beneficial antioxidants, so the scientists wanted to see if any of these foods would boost the physical and mental capabilities of these aging rats.

The researchers found that while several of these foods seemed to offer some antioxidant protection, the rats that had been fed blueberries were the only ones that actually improved in their abilities.

In fact, the rats which had been fed blueberries were able to perform like much younger rats!

This was a very exciting find, and the scientists then wanted to find what it was in the blueberries that produced this very beneficial effect.

It turns out that the chemicals responsible for making these aging rats act mentally younger and perkier were the pigments in the skin of the blueberries.

The compounds that give ripe berries their beautiful colors are the very substances that have such strong anti-oxidant powers. And antioxidants are compounds that help repair some of the damage that happens to our body cells every day.

Scientists have discovered that the darker the berry, the more health benefits it has! Eating two thirds of a cup of blueberries will give you as much anti-oxidant protection as five servings of apples or squash.

The dark pigments in these berries seem to offer protection against cardiovascular disease, degenerative eye disease such as cataracts, and may offer some help in preventing some cancers, and bladder infections.

If the exciting results of the rat studies turn out to also hold true for humans, it may mean that compounds in these dark berries may help protect brain cells from the degenerative diseases of aging.

You can get this fantastic antioxidant protection whether you eat your berries fresh, frozen, or dried.

You can eat berries raw, add them to your favorite cereals, or make a smoothie drink with various berries, fruits, milk and yoghurt. Get creative and find ways to mix berries into your favorite recipes.

In North America, blueberries are available fresh or frozen year round. If you can’t get fresh berries, dried berries are also filled with very concentrated levels of the valuable antioxidants.

If you live in a place where blueberries are not easily available, look for other fruits and berries that have very dark red or dark purple colors.

Foods such as pomegranates, bilberries, cherries, black raspberries, saskatoons or serviceberries also have high levels of these very beneficial dark pigments. These foods offer benefits similar to the benefits of blueberries.

So, think about incorporating at least one habit of bears into your lifestyle – and make berries a frequent part of your diet!

You re on a new lake...what lure do you choose

You're On A New Lake...What lure do you choose?

How To Choose Your Lure...........It's Not Just Luck

Have you ever went fishing and fished for hours or the whole day without even a hit? So, what is the next step, why of course, it to start going through your tackle boxes and start throwing everything you can find.

That is the big mistake, odds are you will get the same result as you've had the rest of the day..Nothing!

So What Do You Use?

Well, you could try a larger size bait.

Instead of using the 4-6 inch worm you have been using, try a 8-10 inch worm. Why? Because it falls slower and stubborn bass prefer a slower falling bait.

Of course, you must take into consideration a few other things as well; the water temperature, the natural prey in the lake such as baitfish and craws, the time of year and the structure. In clear water try a light colored lure, in early spring try smaller lures and as summer gets closer then try a larger lure.

When shady or windy try spinnerbaits or crankbaits. If the sun is shining then the bass will be close to cover so try a worm or jig. If the water you're fishing is muddy try a bigger lure and fish more shallow water. If the fish aren't biting in shallow water then fish a little deeper where the fish aren't effected by the weather as much.

Try these lures to start with: a crankbait, a spinnerbait and a plastic worm.

Hair removal by waxing

The dictionary defines waxing as: 'a temporary method of hair removal which removes the hair at the root. New hairs do not grow back in the waxed area for three to eight weeks. Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face, bikini area, legs, arms, back, abdomen and feet'. But don't be fooled into thinking that waxing is for women only. Today's fashion trends have men waxing their bodies for cosmetic reasons, and many athletes such as bodybuilders and swimmers have been waxing for years.

Most waxes are comprised of some proportional mixture of paraffin or beeswax, natural oils or fats, and a specially designed resin to help the wax adhere to the skin. Some brands of wax add Vitamin E or other supplements. If you think that you might want to try waxing, the first step, whether you are a male or female, is to decide if you want to use the 'hot' or 'cold' wax technique.

The hot wax method involves heating the wax to a comfortable temperature. A thin layer of wax is spread onto the area to be treated in the direction of the hair growth. Once the wax is cooled it is quickly torn off, in the opposite direction of the hair growth, and the hair is removed with it. With the cold wax process, strips of cloth are pre-coated with wax. You apply the strips to the area to be treated, rub the strips in the direction of hair growth, and then pull the strips off quickly in the opposite direction. Although hot waxing techniques are a bit more messy than cold wax ones, many people find that the hot wax gives better results.

You can apply a non-perfumed moisturizer to the treated area if you want to. Moisturizers that are fortified with Vitamin B and/or Aloe Vera are also good.

Always check to make sure that the hot wax is below scalding or burning temperature before applying.

Waxing is a great solution for the temporary removal of unwanted hair if you're tough enough to stand a little pain.

Home insurance and selling your home

If you are selling your home, hopefully you have considered hiring a real estate agent to help you with all the fine details. If not – get to work!

The process of choosing the right real estate agent can be just as difficult as it is important. Below are guidelines to follow when you start your search for the right real estate agent for you.

Look at insurance companies that specialize in real estate. Usually these companies will be able to provide you with a list of their own real estate agents who are trained to the company’s specifications. Perhaps your current homeowner’s insurance company provides tools you need to sell your home; they may even have their own real estate agents from which you can choose. If not, they may be able to point you in the direction of a reputable insurance company or real estate agency that does.

Make sure the real estate agent you choose is trained or accredited. Most real estate agencies, or insurance companies that supply real estate agents, have specially trained their real estate agents, or have hired real estate agents who are in some way accredited. Look for special training or accreditation when choosing your real estate agent.

“Interview” the real estate agent. During the selling process, the real estate agent you eventually choose is going to handle a lot of things for you – many of which are better left handled by the real estate agent. However, there are certain factors you may want to know about, such as how the real estate agent plans to list your home and how the real estate agent plans to “show” your home. Make sure the real estate agent provides you with all the information you want to know.

In the end, choose a real estate agent you with whom you feel comfortable, whether the real estate agent is from an insurance company or real estate agency.

Bankrupcy tips - notice to the creditors and meeting - part 3

After filing your petition for bankruptcy under Chapter 7, paying the necessary fees, and complying with the legal requirements, an “automatic stay” is granted to you by operation of law. This stay will effectively stop most collection actions against you and your properties (11 U. S.C. 362). This means that as long as the stay is in effect, creditors cannot initiate or continue lawsuits, wage garnishments, or even telephone calls demanding payments.

But note that there are certain types of actions listed under 11 U. S.C. 362(b) that'are not stayed when you file the petition. In some situations even, the stay is only'for a short period of time. So this should serve as warning.

After the bankruptcy case has been filed, the bankrupcy clerk will give notice to all creditors whose names and addresses you provided. Then, the case trustee willhold a meeting of creditors between 20 and 40 days after you filed your petition. This meeting is otherwise known as the 343 meeting, after the codal provision 11 U. S.C. 343 that provides for such.

In a 343, the debtor will be put under oath and both the trustee and the creditors will ask questions regarding your financial affairs and property. Your attendance is a must. Within 10 days of the creditors’ meeting, the trustee will then report to the court whether the case should be presumed to be an abuse under the means test described in 11 U. S.C. 704(b).

=== Cooperate with the trustee ===

The case trustee has a very important role in a bankruptcy case. His primary responsibility is to liquidate your nonexempt assets in a manner that maximizes the return to your unsecured creditors. He does this by selling your property, if it is free and clear of liens and as long as it is not exempt, or if it worth more than any security interest or lien attached to the property and any exemption that the debtor holds in the property.

In addition to having the authority to sell your nonexempt property, he also has the power to recovery money or property. This is called the trustee’s “avoiding powers,” which necessarily includes the power to:

• Set aside preferential transfers made to creditors made within 90 days before the petition

• Undo security interests and other prepetition transfers of property that were not properly perfected under nonbankruptcy law at the time of the petition

• Pursue nonbankuptcy claims such as fraudulent conveyance and bulk transfer remedies available under state law

In view of the broadness of a trustee’s power, it is important therefore that you cooperate with the trustee. Provide any financial records or documents that the trustee requests and answer questions, which the trustee is required to ask at the meeting of creditors under the bankrupcy Code.

This is to ensure that you are aware of the potential consequences of seeking a discharge in bankruptcy such as the effect on your credit history, the ability to file a petition under a different chapter, the effect of receiving a discharge, and the effect of reaffirming a debt.

=== After the discharge ===

If all goes well with your bankruptcy case under Chapter 7 – that is, no one files a complaint objecting to the discharge or a motion to extend the time to object – the bankruptcy court will issue a discharge order relatively early in the case, about 60 to 90 days after the date first set for the meeting of creditors (Fed. R. Bankr. P. 4004(c)).

A discharge order is an order issued by the bankruptcy court, releasing you from personal liability for most debts and preventing your creditors from taking any collection actions against you. As previously mentioned, there are certain types of debts that will never be discharged (see Step #1). As a rule, excluding cases that are dismissed or converted, individual debtors receive a discharge in more than 99 percent of Chapter 7 cases.

For someone filing under Chapter 7, a discharge of almost all of your debts is the ultimate goal. With the release of all your debts and creditors stopped from pursuing any further collection actions against you, the opportunity for a fresh start is apparent.

99 places where you need to watch out for germs

They're lying in wait for you at the ATM machine and on your computer keyboard at work. Secretly, they attach themselves to your hands when you push a shopping cart at the store. The little pests will even attach themselves to your children's hands when they romp on playground equipment.

They're germs, and they're lurking in more places than most people think, just waiting to be touched so they can hitch a ride on people's hands.

"Most people think they have a good idea of where germs are, but I think they would be surprised to learn of the places or things where they can pick up germs that may make them sick," said Dr. Charles Gerba, Environmental Microbiology professor at the University of Arizona.

Where the Germs Lurk

According to Dr. Gerba, many people know there are germs in bathrooms, but may not realize that the computer keyboard at work or the sponge in the kitchen can be even filthier than a toilet seat. From the workplace, the home and school to cars, trains and planes, germs are everywhere. Even during activities such as exercising, playing, shopping, going to the movies, attending sports events and commuting, people are coming in contact with germs and may not realize it.

A Simple Solution

Since many germs are spread by hand contact, practicing good hygiene every day is a solution to the problem. When soap and water aren't available, using an instant hand sanitizer like Purell will do the job. This alcohol-based hand sanitizer kills 99.99% of the most common germs that may cause illness.

A list of "99 Places Where Germs are Likely to Lurk" includes:

At work-elevator buttons, phones, shared ink pens

At the gym-exercise machine handles, mats

When traveling-subway poles and handles, gas pump nozzles

At school-shared toys and books, cafeteria trays, playground equipment

At home-pet toys, light switches, thermostats

When shopping-escalator handrails, shopping basket handles.

Knowing where germs are and practicing good hand hygiene can help keep families healthy.

A rare case of male breast cancer

At 41, Brian Place found a lump near his left nipple and dismissed it as a sort of injury from the rough games he had been involved with for most of his life. He thought that the lump was probably a result of a collision with another rugby player. Though his doctor didn't think much of the lump either, nevertheless, he advised Place to get a mammogram test. When the ultrasound of the breast and a biopsy came out, the diagnosis shocked Place and his colleagues from the Royal Air Force in Britain where he works as a Communications Technician: breast cancer.

Staff at his local breast clinic even assumed that Place was accompanying a female patient during his check up. The confusion is understandable. Only about less than 1% of breast cancers diagnosed occur in men. The rarity of breast cancer in men leaves so much room for research regarding the condition. According to Dr. Larissa Korde, staff clinician at the National Cancer Institute's clinical genetics branch, “In women, we have studies based on hundreds of thousands of patients.” However, there are no studies of that scale in men. “Though much can be extrapolated from research in women,” said Korde, “ it's a little bit harder to make recommendations for men based on evidence.”

One of the surest risk factors to consider is family medical history, that is, for both men and women. At the time of Place's diagnosis, two female relatives of his had died of breast cancer and a third of ovarian cancer. However, several genes may contribute to breast cancer, such as mutations which are known to increase the possibilities of both breast and ovarian cancers. Although most men might never even meet a man with breast cancer, those who have several relatives diagnosed with breast cancer should be wary for signs of their own breast tumors. Based on studies, certain populations with an unusually high proportion of people carrying BRCA2 mutations may have a higher incidence rate of breast cancer in men, such as in Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, and among Ashkenazi Jews.

There are similarities in the survival rates for men and women as they adjust in the stage of the disease at diagnosis. But since men do not undergo a regular screening like women do, they are more likely to be diagnosed at a later stage. The lumps may not always be detected by medical scanning equipment.

Medical treatment usually includes surgery, to be followed by some combination of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. With men, an additional hormone treatment is necessary because almost all men with breast cancer have tumors characterized as hormone-receptor-positive.

After two years of medical treatment and therapy, Place is now doing well. Two years after his diagnosis, Place is well enough to play contact sports. The mastectomy was successful, and Place has decided to discontinue his hormone treatment due to its side effects like hot flashes which he found to be very unpleasant.

Brian Place is now an active participant in online discussions and support group communities for cancer patients. He tries to answer questions regarding male breast-cancer conditions. Place also gives talks to people who contact him through the U. K. nonprofit Breast Cancer Care. Although there are women who are not yet accustomed to men with breast cancer condition, time and awareness can help address the issue.

To get a new home mortgage refinance or not that is the question

When is it right to get a new home mortgage and when is it not financially wise to do so? Find out through this informative article.

More and more people are opting to get a new home mortgage to replace their existing ones. This should not be surprising considering the potential for getting better deals when you refinance your loan. You can lower your interest rates to a favorable extent, and you can save up quite a lot to pay off your principal sooner than if you still with your existing loan.

However, some people still choose to wait it out or look for the right timing before they jump right in and get some mortgage refinancing. This is primarily because interest rates have seemed to slowly increase in the recent years, and home owners who refinance seem to face the risk of getting even higher interest rates later on. So the question still remains, should you refinance or not? Should you get a new home mortgage now or wait a little more for a better time?

For the longest time, the 2% formula in refinancing has been believed by many people. It basically says that home owners should only refinance if they can improve their current interest rate by at least 2%. Nowadays, this formula may not be the rule of thumb any longer. Today, the points (sometimes including the fees) you pay at closing are just as important as the interest rates. Normally, the more points you pay, the lesser the interest rates, and vice versa.

When is it a great idea to refinance? Well, to be specific, it is best to refinance if you can improve your interest rate at very little, or no cost at all. No fee, no point loans have been very popular in the recent years. So, if you qualify for such, then you will surely get a great deal when you get a new home mortgage. It may also be wise to refinances if you have a balloon payment due soon. This can naturally be catastrophic if you do not have any other option to cover your debt, except your home equity. (If you need to tap right into your home equity, make sure you do so for the right reasons.) In addition, it is wise to get a new home mortgage and change into a fixed rate mortgage if you have an adjustable rate loan which is just about to spike up.

When is it not great to refinance? If you have stuck with your loan for quite a while now, say more than half-way to your mortgage terms, it may not be a good idea to get a new home mortgage. This will only re-extend your terms and may only cost you more. A pending pre-payment penalty on an existing loan or a maxed out home equity loan or credit line are not great reasons for a new home mortgage, so try not to put yourself at even greater risk. Furthermore, if your credit rating or score has recently gone through a hit, try not to refinance soon as you may not get the best market rate that you are aiming for.

Cooking with eggs

We use eggs in so many recipes. They are a staple in the kitchen.

An egg can be cooked alone – boiled, poached, fried, scrambled.

Or used as an ingredient in baking, batters and cakes.

Alternatively use an egg to thicken sauces or to add air to lighten dishes.

The egg is truly amazing. And without it – well our menus sure would be dull.

But do you know much about the egg?

Chances are that you have never even given it a thought. Well it is time you did.

The most critical aspect of the egg is – it’s air content. (bet you thought I was going to say the shell).

When first laid, the egg has barely any air inside a tiny air pocket. However, because the shell is porous, it allows air to penetrate. And as time passes, air moves inside the egg and the air pocket grows.

As this air pocket enlarges, the moisture in the egg evaporates. So, as the egg gets older the yolk becomes less plump and flatter and the white separates and spreads.

And this all impacts on cooking. Depending on how you intend on using the egg determines how fresh an egg you should use.

If you fry an older egg, you will end with a flat ‘pancake’ instead of a neat rounded egg.

The more stale an egg the more fragile and difficult to separate it will be.

As opposed to the fresh egg, which has a tight and tough inner skin. This makes peeling the shell off the boiled egg very frustrating. As the egg ages with skin relaxes allowing the shell to peel much easier.

If you are lucky enough to have your own hens, then you know how old your eggs are. But what if you have to buy them?

The easiest method of tell how old an egg is, is to put the egg in a dish of water.

If it sinks and lies horizontally – very fresh.

If it sinks but tilts slightly – about 1 week old.

If it sinks but stands vertically – older, stale.

But if it floats – it’s off and be careful not to crack the shell.

Some people prefer brown eggs and some white. But nutritionally they are the same.

The yolks will also vary in color depending of the diet of the hen.

Do you find your eggs crack when boiling? Well, follow these simple steps to get perfect eggs, every time.

Use 2 week old eggs and ensure they are at room temperature. Make as pin prick in the rounded flat end of the egg – this allows any steam that might build up to escape.

Use as small a saucepan as possible, so the eggs fit in snuggly – you don’t want to much space otherwise they may bounce around and crack.

Bring to the boil but only simmer do not boil vigorously. Follow these tips and your eggs won’t crack.

So, for frying and poaching use as fresh an egg as possible. When the recipe calls for eggs to be separated, use fresh eggs as well. But if you want easy to peel eggs use the older ones. And when it comes to scrambling, fresher is best but older ones will do.

Happy Egg Cooking

Trenbolone enanthate a long-acting injectable steroid

Trenbolone Enanthate is a long-acting injectable steroid having a huge effect on protein metabolism. Trenbolone Enanthate is one of the effective anabolic compounds, boosting protein synthesis in addition to producing a favorable nitrogen balance. Trenbolone Enanthate is an appetite stimulant drug, which betters the proteins conversion.

In researches, it has been confirmed that Trenbolone Enanthate raises protein levels and diminishes fat deposition. It has confirmed to be an outstanding product for encouraging volume and strength in the presence of sufficient protein and calories, boosts body tissue making actions, and can overturn catabolism.

Trenbolone Enanthate assists constructive metabolism by raising nitrogen retention and protein synthesis in muscles. It interacts powerfully with the anti-anabolic receptors - glucocorticoid hormones. This will diminish cortisol and helpful in the growth of muscles. Because of these protein synthesizing results, Trenbolone Enanthate can support feed efficiency and mineral absorption. Trenbolone Enanthate is also preferred by many people for the impressive strength increases commonly experienced with it.

Initially, Trenbolone was made as finaplex pellets for vet use. But, eventually muscle-builders have recognized its exclusive properties and other benefits, and afterward it has become a favored anabolic steroid for many. Lots of abusers would convert the pellets into an injectable form. However, regardless of being unapproved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), there are various reputable Underground Labs (UGLs) making quality injectable forms of Trenbolone Enanthate.

Trenbolone Enanthate is a highly androgenic steroid, with bonding to the Androgen Receptor (AR). The fallouts associated with Trenbolone Enanthate include male pattern baldness (MPB), gynecomastia, giddiness, insomnia, sleeping troubles, severe sweating, heart problems, increase in blood pressure, kideny problems and many others. Due to bronchial dilation from augmented prostaglandin formation, the most common problem with Trenbolone Enanthate is that it can diminish aerobic capacity.

The normal weekly dosages of Trenbolone Enanthate range between 200-600mg. Trenbolone Enanthate only needs to be taken via intramuscular injection once or twice a week. Of course, it is equally useful in both cutting as well as bulking cycles.
